KING 5 TV Coverage of First Phoslock Application in Washington State
KING 5 Environmental Specialist Gary Chittim did an excellent story on our work to mitigate phosphorus pollution in an urban lake just south of Seattle yesterday. Phosphorus pollution is severely degrading waters around the world. This key nutrient fuels eutrophication and often triggers cyanobacteria or toxic blue green algae blooms.
Phoslock is a technology developed by the Australian National Science Academy about 15 years ago and has been used world wide to target and remove phosphorus from lake and river systems. Aquatechnex was the first group in the United States to work with this technology as part of our lake restoration programs. This video tells the story.
